The Student Walk Home Attendant Team (SWHAT) is a volunteer committee affiliated with the McMaster Student Union at McMaster University. This group elects student volunteers to walk McMaster students home at night in Hamilton. SafeWord is also affiliated with SWHAT, providing a secure and discreet way for SafeWord users to return home safely.
- SWHAT volunteers carry a flashlight and a radio with them to communicate with the SWHAT office and McMaster security.
- SWHAT runs during September to April, 7 days a week between the hours of 7pm to 1am.
- SWHAT has walked 144 students home in November alone
